Jason Petty in Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes

January 21

Jason Petty made a striking impression on New York’s Theatre District, starring in ‘Hank Williams: Lost Highway,” which played to sold out audiences at the Little Shubert Theater. Audiences and critics alike were taken back by Petty’s amazing acting ability in his portrayal of Hank Williams. He won rave reviews from all the major critics, including the New York Times, Variety, and Rolling Stone. The NY Post stated it best, “At times it seems as if Petty is not just offering an impersonation of Williams, but channeling his ghost.” Another sign of recognition for Petty’s brilliant performance of Hank Williams was being honored with an Obie Award for “Outstanding Actor.”

This University of Tennessee graduate was born and raised in Manchester, TN. Now Jason enjoys his success with his beautiful wife Hope. As Jason says, “It’s not the destination in life that counts, it’s the journey. My wife and I await our next adventure.” We’re glad TVT is part of the journey! http://jasonpetty.com

This Grammy Award winning singer songwriter has a voice that is familiar to millions of television and radio listeners. She has appeared at the White House three times, performed in nearly all 50 states, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and Thailand. In 1996 she was awarded the music industry's highest recognition, a Grammy Award. This came to her through a new avenue, when she agreed to sing an album of original lullabies for friend and producer, J. Aaron Brown. After she received the Grammy for "Best Musical Recording for Children", the calls started coming in for children and family concerts.

While her music tends to defy categorization, singer songwriter friend, Michael Johnson, describes the style as "art songs." Her lyric driven, melodic, often humorous, alternative folk music speaks to issues of tolerance and human rights, as well as personal relationships and funny circumstances.
