Backstage Banter

with Harry Landreth

One of the greatest challenges facing theater organizations today is how to make themselves relevant and important to their communities. In order for TVT to be relevant, it must be worth the investment of our patrons in both time and money.

We know that we are competitive from a ticket price standpoint. Where else can you get 2-3 hours of quality entertainment for $8-$10? However, are people willing to spend 2-3 hours with us when they must choose us over other things that they could be doing. In other words, what is our competition? Where do people spend their time? Outside of the home, it is probably church, Little League, school activities, civic clubs, the lake, etc. But the biggest competitor for TVT is TV.

So, the next time you think about watching “The Price is Right” instead of coming to one of our shows, please don’t. We really need you!

Marquee for the Theater

We are in the process of having a marquee made for the side of the building. The approximate cost is $7,000. We would like to thank Robinson Manufacturing for their donation toward the sign. Any other donations to help defray the cost would be greatly appreciated.

You are needed!

Become a part of the exciting events taking place at the TVT. Our mission is to provide a variety of cultural experiences for all ages. The theater operates on  a volunteer basis. You are needed to assist with the effort of providing the community with high quality entertainment. You are asked to work as a volunteer, sponsor an event/show, give a donation/grant. We want to keep the theater sound and solvent. If you would like to sponsor a play/event or give a donation/grant, please contact me at 423-365-9848.

The Gallery

We are in need of artists that have paintings, drawings, or framed photographs that they would like to share with our community. We would like to put them on display at the TVT during the performances.
